Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Edge Journal ("the service", "the app"). By creating an account or browsing the sample journal, you agree to the terms below. If you do not agree, please don't use the service.
1. The service
Edge Journal is a personal trading journal. It helps you record trades, attach screenshots and notes, review your performance, and (on paid plans) talk to an AI assistant about your own data. The service is provided as-is, on a best-effort basis, and may evolve over time as features are added, changed, or removed.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to use Edge Journal.
- You're responsible for keeping your password and any third-party login (Google, Discord) secure.
- You're responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter and any decisions you make based on it.
- One human per account. Don't share login credentials.
3. Acceptable use
Don't use Edge Journal to break the law, infringe anyone's rights, upload malware, scrape or reverse-engineer the service, or attempt to disrupt other users. We may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the service.
4. Subscriptions and billing
Paid plans are billed through Stripe. A 7-day free trial is offered to new users; you can cancel any time before the trial ends to avoid being charged. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Prices and plan features may change with notice; existing billing cycles will not be re-priced mid-cycle.
Refunds are handled case by case, email the address below within 7 days of an unintended charge.
5. Your data & ownership
Your trades, notes, screenshots, and other journal entries belong to you. You grant Edge Journal a limited licence to store and process this data solely to provide the service to you (e.g., syncing across devices, computing analytics, powering the AI assistant when you invoke it). We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising. See the Privacy Policy for details on storage and third parties.
6. Not financial advice
Edge Journal is a journaling and analytics tool. Nothing in the app, including computed statistics, model summaries, AI commentary, or any other output, is financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Trading involves risk of loss. You are solely responsible for your trading decisions.
7. Third-party services
The service relies on Supabase (database/auth), Stripe (payments), and Google/Discord (optional sign-in). Your interactions with those providers are governed by their own terms and policies.
8. Service availability
We aim for high uptime but don't guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, third-party outages, or unforeseen incidents may temporarily affect the service. Trades you've already saved are stored in our database; the app also caches data locally so it works offline.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Edge Journal is not liable for trading losses, lost profits, or indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the service. Total liability for any direct damages is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
10. Termination
You can stop using the service at any time and request deletion of your account by emailing the address below. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Sections that should survive termination by their nature (data ownership, disclaimers, liability) will continue to apply.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by a new "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, in-app notice. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
